JUSTIN WARNERCaptain / MechanicalCaptain Nanometer reporting for duty! Justin Warner is a Senior at UHS in his 9th year in FIRST and his 5th and final year on Flaming Phoenix. As the Team Captain and Mechanical Subteam Lead, Justin uses his eye for extreme detail to lead the CAD, design, and manufacturing of the robot, and organize the team, the notebook and other events. Outside of robotics, Justin enjoys being a part of multiple choral ensembles at the high school and the academic team. Within school, Justin enjoys physics, calculus, and French.

RACHEL FOLMARMechanicalRachel Folmar is a junior at UHS and she is thrilled to begin her 3rd season on Flaming Phoenix and to work with the new team members. On the team, Rachel has worked on the mechanical, programming, and outreach teams, but this year she will be part of the mechanical trio and will lead the team’s outreach efforts along with the notebook. She is anxiously awaiting her role as oldest team member next season, but in the meantime, she fills her free time writing for her school newspaper, singing, songwriting, and being excessively involved in other extra-curriculars.

BRANDON TSAIProgrammingBrandon Tsai is excited to fully invest his time in the wonderful world of programming for his 3rd year as the Programming Subteam Lead. As a highly successful freshman with many accolades, he participates in a copious amounts extracurriculars outside of school, including speech and debate, Boy Scouts, and academic team. Within school, he participates in choir, band, and has a blast in history.

ADDISON LIUProgrammingAddison Liu is a sophomore and a first year member of the team. She is super excited to be a part of the programming team this year. Besides robotics, Addison participates in speech and debate, competitive math, and multiple STEM outreach volunteer programs. In school, she enjoys chemistry, math, and of course, computer science.

JAKE GOTTESMANMechanicalJake Gottesman is a new sophomore that joined the team this year. He is very interested in helping the team in a mechanical aspect including the digital and physical design and creation of the robot. He is currently enrolled in an engineering class at school and enjoys math and science.

MARCUS RUNDATZProgrammingThis is Marcus Rundatz’s first year doing the first tech challenge. He is currently in 9th grade and is doing programming for the team. Some of his hobbies include: Video games, history, geography, and learning languages.
